TUKS FM’S HISTORY

2015


Tuks FM won 5 MTN Radio Awards including Campus Station of the Year for the fourth consecutive year since 2012.

In 2015 Tuks FM’s seventh annual Woolly Winter campaign raised goods and cash to the value of R314 000 which was distributed to the Student Nutrition and Progress Programme (SNAPP) at the University of Pretoria and to organisations in the greater Tshwane area.

Tuks FM administered community radio training for 80 delegates
 through Continuing Education at University of Pretoria Trust (CE at UP) sponsored by the City of Tshwane. 

2014


In 2014 Tuks FM won 9 MTN Radio Awards including Campus Station of the Year for the third consecutive year.

From 6-9 May 2014, Tuks FM participated in the World Radio Challenge with 7 other countries from around the world.

Tuks FM’s Woolly Winter campaign produced R24100 cash, 1484 items of clothing, 655 food items and 589 blankets which was distributed throughout the community.

Tuks FM started presenting 2 radio courses namely Radio 101 and Radio Presenting through Continuing Education at University of Pretoria Trust (CE at UP).

2013


At the MTN Radio Awards Tuks FM was awarded as the Best Campus Station of the Year for the second consecutive year. Other awards include Best Breakfast Show, Best Breakfast Presenter, Best Afternoon Drive Presenter, Best Night Time Show, Best Music Show and Best News Bulletin Reader.

Form the 15th to the 18th of March, Tuks FM attempted to break the world record for the longest outside broadcast in Hatfield Square. Bioplus sponsored the attempt.

2012

Tuks FM is registered as a trust under Enterprises at the University of Pretoria.

Enterprises at University of Pretoria Trust (E at UP) was formed with a mandate to take responsibility for the development, implementation and management of the commercial activities of the University of Pretoria, and to govern these enterprises.

As of 2011, Tuks FM is registered as a Trust under Enterprises at University of Pretoria.
